Islamabad, Feb 8, 2026 — Pakistan’s Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, undertook an official visit to Malaysia to engage with senior naval leadership on strengthening bilateral ties and addressing regional maritime security challenges, officials said.
At the Royal Malaysian Navy Headquarters, Admiral Naveed Ashraf met his Malaysian counterpart and was accorded a guard of honour. The meetings focused on aligning strategic perspectives and expanding cooperation in response to a rapidly changing maritime environment.
According to the Pakistan Navy, discussions covered opportunities for enhanced operational coordination, training, and information sharing. The naval chief also outlined Pakistan’s role in maintaining security at sea through regular maritime patrols and participation in multinational maritime security frameworks.
As part of the visit, Admiral Naveed Ashraf toured Malaysia’s National Hydrographic Centre, where officials briefed him on its technical functions and contributions to safe navigation. He stressed the importance of hydrography in naval operations and supported closer collaboration with Pakistan’s hydrographic authorities.
Officials described the visit as part of ongoing naval diplomacy between Pakistan and Malaysia, aimed at strengthening cooperation and promoting stability in regional waters.
