Pakistan beat England by 79 runs during the 10th match of the World Championship of Legends 2024 at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham, UK.
The men in green remain unbeaten as this marks their fourth win in the competition, having previously triumphed over Australia, West Indies and India.
Earlier, Pakistan scored 196/4 after being asked to bat first by England.
The men in green suffered the early losses of Kamran Akmal (11) and Sharjeel Khan (13) as openers. But the 121-run partnership between Sohaib Maqsood and Shoaib Malik laid the foundation for Pakistan to reach a significant total.
Maqsood made 44 balls while Malik made 33 balls. Misbahul Haq, who leads the side, hit 14 balls while Abdul Razzaq hit 9 balls.
Meaker finished as England’s top bowler, finishing with figures of 2/25. Pakistan defended their 197-run target by dismissing England captain Kevin Pietersen early.
Phil Mustard managed to keep England in the game. Ian Bell, 11, was the second man to leave after Yasir Arafat escaped. Mustard (34) departed as he tried to accelerate while Kevin O’Brien (24) was clean off Shoaib Malik.
No other batting was clicking and Pakistan were taking wickets at regular intervals. England were bowled out for 117.
Saeed Ajmal claimed three while Abdul Razzaq two. Shoaib Malik, Sohail Khan and Aamer Yamin got a wicket each.
The top four teams advance to the semi-finals. Pakistan holds the top spot in the points table with a score of 8 points, followed by Australia and India, who are second and third with a score of 4 points. England are fourth with two points.
