LAHORE: Pakistan cricket team bowling coach Morne Morkel has parted ways with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
According to the sources, there is a possibility that Umar Gul will be given the responsibilities of the bowling coach for the tour of Australia. Morkel, who hails from South Africa, had a contract with the PCB to take over the responsibilities till the World Cup, which is not being extended now, while Morkel is also not interested in doing more. Morkel has also formally informed the PCB about this.
The PCB formally announced the deal with Morne Morkel on June 17, but he joined the national team late due to other commitments including the IPL. In the presence of Morkel, the performance graph of Pakistani bowlers could not be as good as expected.
The next challenge for the national team, which performed poorly in the World Cup, is the 3-Test series against Australia.
