Pakistan Army deployed across country during Muharram

The Ministry of Interior has approved the deployment of Pakistan Army across the country during Muharram to ensure peace and security.

The deployment, approved under Article 245 of the Constitution, comes in response to requests from various provincial governments and administrative areas.

The governments of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan along with the administrations of Azad Jammu, Kashmir and Islamabad have all requested the deployment of army troops to maintain law and order during the important religious period.

An announcement by the Ministry of Interior confirmed the deployment of the army across the country.
