One person was killed and six others were injured overnight in the northern suburbs of Paris, prosecutors and the mayor said Saturday.
The attack took place at 11:45 pm (2145 GMT) on Friday in a parking lot near the cultural center of Sèvres, located between the center of Paris and the city’s main airport Charles Gaulle, prosecutors said.
The police arrived at the scene and found four injured people lying on the ground. According to police sources, one died shortly after, and all three were taken to hospital in critical condition.
Three other people were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, the source said, adding that two men arrived at the parking lot in a car and one got out and opened fire.
The attackers fled the scene.
Sèvres mayor Stéphane Blanchet told AFP that “it has solved many problems related to drug trafficking”.
“We need to establish order and eliminate human trafficking,” he said.
The police said they have opened an investigation into the case of deliberate murder by an organized gang. No arrests has been made as of Saturday morning.
