Omar Ayub appointed as NA opposition leader

The process of appointing the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly has been completed as the NA Secretariat issued a notification for the Leader of the Opposition in the Lower House of Parliament.

The nominated candidate for Leader of the Opposition Omar Ayub called on the Speaker of the National Assembly where Ayaz Sadiq informed Omar Ayub that an announcement would be made.

National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has now issued a notice for the opposition leader.

The appointment of the Leader of the Opposition and the Parliamentary Leader in the National Assembly has been delayed due to disagreements over the issue of the Leader of the Opposition and the Parliamentary Leader in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Sources claimed that instead of the PTI founder nominating Umar Ayub, former Speaker Asad Qaiser himself applied for the important post. Former Speaker Asad Qaiser met Speaker Ayaz Sadiq in the past few days and demanded that he not issue the opposition leader’s notice for now.
