ISLAMABAD: The National University of Technology (NUTECH) organised its Tree Plantation Drive 2026 to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among students, faculty and staff.
The initiative reflects the university’s efforts to support environmental protection and create a greener and healthier campus.
Tree plantation plays an important role in improving the urban environment by providing shade, supporting biodiversity, absorbing carbon dioxide and helping reduce the effects of rising temperatures. Trees can also contribute to better air quality and provide habitats for birds and other wildlife.
Educational institutions can play a valuable role in building environmental awareness by involving students and staff in practical activities that encourage responsibility for nature and natural resources.
Through initiatives such as the plantation drive, NUTECH aims to encourage its community to adopt environmentally responsible practices and contribute to a more sustainable future.
The campaign’s message, “Plant Today. Protect Tomorrow,” highlights the importance of taking action today to protect the environment for future generations.
