ISLAMABAD: The National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) celebrated Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with patriotic spirit and renewed its commitment to supporting the country’s digital transformation and technological development.
A ceremony was held at the NTC Headquarters in Islamabad and attended by senior management, employees and distinguished guests. NTC Managing Director Major General (Retd.) Ali Farhan (Hilal-i-Imtiaz Military) attended as chief guest, while Ikram-ul-Haq, representative of the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, participated as guest of honour.
Addressing the gathering, the NTC Managing Director paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and all men and women whose sacrifices, determination and struggle contributed to the creation of Pakistan.
He said the principles of faith, unity and discipline remained equally relevant today and should continue to guide the nation towards progress and prosperity.
Highlighting NTC’s role in Pakistan’s digital transformation, Major General (Retd.) Ali Farhan said the corporation would continue providing secure, reliable and modern ICT infrastructure to government institutions and citizens while contributing to the expansion of digital connectivity across the country.
He emphasized that technology should ultimately serve the welfare of people and society. He described Pakistan’s youth as the country’s most valuable asset and stressed the need to provide young people with quality education, digital skills and access to modern technologies so they could contribute effectively to the country’s economic, social and technological development.
Speaking on the occasion, Ministry of IT and Telecommunication representative Ikram-ul-Haq appreciated NTC’s services and contribution to national development and digital transformation.
He said Pakistanis serving in different fields around the world had demonstrated the talent, dedication and capabilities of the nation.
Ikram-ul-Haq emphasized that young people represented Pakistan’s future and should be provided with greater opportunities to participate in national affairs and decision-making. He said their creativity, innovative ideas and capabilities could play an important role in accelerating the country’s development.
Nationwide Poster Design Competition
As part of its Independence Day celebrations, NTC also organized a nationwide poster design competition for university students across Pakistan.
The competition received enthusiastic participation from students, who showcased their creativity and patriotic spirit through artwork.
Hamza Shaukat secured first position, Muhammad Ali Haider stood second, while Rahul Kumar won third position.
The NTC Managing Director congratulated the winners and appreciated their creativity, enthusiasm and patriotism. He said such positive and creative activities help promote confidence, innovative thinking and a sense of national responsibility among young people.
The poster competition provided students with an opportunity to express their love for Pakistan through art and creative expression. Participation from universities across the country reflected the creativity and aspirations of Pakistan’s young generation.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the NTC Managing Director reaffirmed the corporation’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s digital transformation, modern ICT infrastructure and national development agenda.
The celebrations concluded with a renewed pledge to contribute towards building a technologically advanced, connected and prosperous Digital Pakistan.
