The oldest macaroni penguin in North America is celebrating its 40th birthday at SeaWorld San Diego, a theme park in the United States.

Named “Best Friend,” this penguin turned 40 on Wednesday, which is much older than the typical lifespan of a macaroni penguin, which ranges from 15 to 20 years.

SeaWorld stated that Best Friend is affectionately referred to as the “most treasured old man” at the park. While his vision is weakening, his hearing is still sharp, and he can easily recognize the voices of those who care for him.

One of his favorite daily activities is blowing bubbles in his water tray.
