National Highways and Motorway Police officers demonstrated high professionalism and bravery near Chichawatni on GT Road and recovered large quantity of drugs and illegal weapons from a suspected car and apprehended two culprits. To commend the officers for their dedication and courage, Inspector General Riffat Mukhtar Raja invited them to his Office in Islamabad, where they were honored with cash rewards and certificates of appreciation in a prestigious ceremony. On this occasion, the IG, NHMP emphasized the importance of dedication, passion, and commitment in a service of police officers. He stated that the prompt action and sense of duty serve as a beacon of inspiration for the entire force. As per details, officers of the National Highways and Motorway Police signalled a suspicious over speed white Toyota Corolla Car with tinted Glasses, bearing registration number AAS-740, to stop for quick check near Harappa Toll Plaza on GT Road. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated in an attempt to flee. The motorway police officers immediately alerted their next patrolling mobile to intercept the suspicious car. Upon receiving the alert, Sub-Inspector Munsab Mohsin and Constable Saif ur Rehman displayed exceptional professionalism and risked their lives to stop the said car near Mehr Din Cotton Factory on GT Road, Chichawatni and arrested two culprits. On searching the car, the officers recovered 29 packets (36KG) of hashish, one SMG, five magazines containing 285 bullets, 02 Beretta and 03 Glock Pistols with ten magazines, three mobile phones, cash, and three debit cards. Subsequently, the motorway police handed over the arrested culprits along with the recovered illegal weapons, drugs, and other items to the SHO Zeeshan Bashir of PS Kassowal for further legal action and investigation.
