The New Zealand cricket team began their much-awaited 14-day tour in Islamabad.
The team will play five T20 matches against the Pakistan cricket team from April 14 to April 28.
The series will feature three exciting matches at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on April 18, 20 and 21, followed by two matches at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on April 25 and 27.
The arrival of the New Zealand team was greeted with tight security, with the visiting players being escorted through Head of State protocol on arrival at Islamabad airport.
The team was immediately transferred to their hotel under tight security, where they will rest on arrival and Monday. However, he will go to the training ground at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday evening at 7 pm.
Meanwhile, the West Indies women’s cricket team also left for Karachi, Pakistan via a private airline this morning. The Hayley Mathews-led team is gearing up to host the Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team in a series of ODI and T20 matches.
Upon arrival, the West Indies women’s team was welcomed by Aisha Ashar, the general manager of the women’s wing. The team will begin training tomorrow in preparation for the international T20I series with five one-day matches at the National Bank Stadium.
