A remarkable landmass has recently been discovered beneath the icy waters of the North Atlantic Ocean—an unknown continent. The new continent lies in a large water reservoir known as Davis Strait, which separates Canada’s Baffin Island from Greenland.
According to scientists, this region was formed millions of years ago when tectonic plate movements reshaped the Earth’s crust. These shifting plates caused the ocean floor to contain a thick layer of the continent, which scientists have recently classified as a “proto-micro continent.”
This discovery was revealed in a study conducted by British and Swedish scientists. The continent is believed to have emerged between 33 and 61 million years ago due to tectonic plate movements.
