Legendary Indian actress Neena Gupta has revealed that she does not believe in redundant feminism and does not believe in the fact that men and women are equal.
According to the Indian media, Neena Gupta expressed her views on feminism in a recent interview in which she advised people not to believe in ‘redundant feminism’.
Neena Gupta said that “in my view men and women can never be equal, instead of equality, women should get financial independence and focus on their work. If you are a housewife, don’t think of yourself as inferior because taking care of the house is very important. And it’s hard work.”
The actress also claimed during her interview that women need men in which she narrated an incident from her past.
Neena Gupta said, “Many years ago, I had a flight of 6 children in the morning, so I left my house at 4 am to go to the airport. It was dark at that time, and a drunk man followed me. After that, I went back to my house instead of going to the airport”.
“After that, the next day I booked the same 6 o’clock flight and then my friend dropped me off at the airport,” he said.
The actress added that “I realized then that every woman needs a man in her life”.
