PESHAWAR: Officers, staff members, volunteers and interns of the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa actively participated in plantation activities across various districts of the province to promote environmental protection and expand green cover.
NCHD district offices organized plantation drives at different locations in collaboration with district administrations, the Forest Department, Youth Affairs Department, educational institutions, volunteers and other relevant stakeholders.
During the campaigns, a variety of fruit-bearing and non-fruit-bearing saplings were planted, while awareness sessions were also held to highlight the importance of trees, forests and environmental conservation among local communities, particularly young people.
NCHD officials said plantation was not merely about planting trees but represented a practical commitment to creating a clean, healthy and safe environment for future generations.
They appreciated the active participation of youth and volunteers, saying such initiatives promote community service, volunteerism and a stronger sense of environmental responsibility among citizens.
The NCHD Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reaffirmed its commitment to continuing practical initiatives focused on environmental protection, volunteer engagement and community development in collaboration with government departments, educational institutions and local communities.
The organization emphasized that sustained community participation and responsible care of planted saplings would be essential to ensuring the long-term success of plantation campaigns.
