National Conference on National Security & Foreign Policy Organized by CLAS, SI, and TMUC in Islamabad

Islamabad: Three organizations, CLAS, SI, and TMUC, joined forces to organize a National Conference on National Security and Foreign Policy. The objective was to engage in discussions and provide actionable suggestions for Pakistan’s future elected government. The event, held in Islamabad, brought together over twenty experts, academics, and former practitioners to delve into four key themes: Pakistan’s national security, South Asia’s geopolitics, Pakistan and its western frontiers, and Pakistan’s economic security.

The conference saw a significant turnout of intellectuals, researchers, TMUC students, and members of the think tank community, fostering a national dialogue on crucial issues for the country’s future. Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Chairman of the Sanober Institute, highlighted the rapidly changing global landscape impacting South Asia. He emphasized that the conference discussions yielded tangible proposals for the consideration of policymakers in the future elected government.

Dr. Faisal Mushtaq TI, Founder & CEO of Roots Millennium Education Group and Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Centre for Law and Security (CLAS), expressed optimism that the collaborative efforts of these private-sector organizations would provide valuable guidance to the incoming government after the February 8th elections. Renowned journalist and Executive Director of CLAS, Mr. Rehman Azhar, underscored the importance of leveraging collective expertise to assist the new government in addressing the substantial challenges in national security and foreign policy. The policy recommendations generated during the conference will be compiled into a booklet and presented to senior policymakers next month.
