Murad Sadpara dies on Broad Peak, rescue Op to retrieve body underway

The Pakistani army conducted a rescue operation the next day to recover the body of mountaineer Murad Sadpara from a wide pack.

A six-member rescue team transported Murad Sadara’s body to the Japanese base camp, and it may take up to five more hours to bring the body back to the base camp.

In Skardu, Murad Sadpara was seriously injured after being hit by a rock at Camp 1 during an expedition to the 8,047m Broad Peak Mountain.

Murad Sadpara led the K2 cleanup campaign.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed grief over the death of Pakistani mountaineer Murad Sadpara and offered condolences to the bereaved family.
