When the official release date of ‘Kalki 2989 AD’ was finally revealed, fans got excited.

Remade in Hindi for some scenes, the film was mainly shot in Telugu.

Nag Ashwin is writing and directing Kalki 2898, an epic Indian dystopian sci-fi film set in 2024.

The film is set in a post-apocalyptic world in 2898 AD and is based on Indian mythology.

Prabhas plays the lead role along with Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani.

“All forces united for a better tomorrow,” read the caption alongside the poster recently released on Instagram, shared by the account ‘Kalki2898ad’.

The film was first announced in February 2020, but production was pushed back a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Filming finally began in July 2021 on a futuristic set in Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City, and was rarely seen on set for three years before being installed in March 2024.
