Islamabad: The Motorway Police has launched an e-ticketing app for the convenience of passengers, which will print digital tickets.
According to the spokesperson for the Motorway Police, points will be deducted for any errors or violations, and after a certain threshold, the license will be suspended. The spokesperson added that everything will be auto-filled, making it easy to track stolen vehicles.
While addressing the 28th anniversary of the National Highways and Motorways Police, IG Motorways Salman Chaudhry stated that in 1997, a journey of 366 kilometers began, and today, motorways have expanded to over 4,500 kilometers. Soon, a network of motorways will cover all four provinces.
IG Motorways further mentioned that they have radars, speed guns, and ambulances in place, and although they faced challenges with axle load management, they have achieved 95% compliance since last year.
Salman Chaudhry also expressed admiration for the youth, highlighting the sacrifice of a sub-inspector who was martyred by being run over by a vehicle. He announced that the police would soon move to a cashless policy and that they have already become 97% paperless.
