Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released the monthly salary details of national cricket team players.
According to media reports, A-category players earn $4.5 million a month, while B-category players earn $3 million a month. The latest contract awarded by the PCB has witnessed a significant increase in wages across all categories.
Category A players have seen an impressive 202% growth, while Category B players have seen an increase of 144%. C and D category players increased by 135% and 127% respectively.
The category of players is based on their performance, with a new contract announced by the PCB in September last year.
Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan were placed in Category A, earning $4.5 million each. Category B includes players like Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah who earn $3 million per month.
Monthly salaries for players in categories C and D range from 750,000 to 1.5 million. Imad Wasim belongs to Category C, while Iftikhar Ahmed, Hasan Ali and Saim Ayub belong to Category D.
In addition to the monthly salary, it should be noted that players also receive fixed match payouts and matching bonuses in all three formats. This additional incentive contributes to the income of all national team players.
