In a surprise visit to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) headquarters, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi promised to crack down on corruption and improve the agency’s efficiency.
Naqvi directed that all pending promotions under FIA be processed and completed within the next 30 days. He emphasized that solving these long-term cases will serve to motivate police officers.
Expressing his unwavering stance against corruption, the Minister emphasized the zero tolerance policy and emphasized that corruption will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He reiterated his commitment to transform the FIA into a world-class institution free from the scourge of corruption.
Naqvi emphasized the importance of FIA’s role in various sectors and called for effective measures to combat problems such as fake medicines and electricity theft. He also stressed the critical need to combat human trafficking and asked for a report on the recent Yemeni boat accident.
He further stressed the need to review the performance of officers stationed abroad and develop comprehensive plans to address issues such as dollar smuggling and fraudulent entry and exit from the country.

In addition, the Home Secretary emphasized the importance of addressing the benchmark case of Hawala Hundi with effective measures that signal a comprehensive approach to combating crime within and outside the country.
The Minister of the Interior further called for a multifaceted approach to solving various domestic problems. He emphasized the need to take decisive measures to eliminate the sale of counterfeit medicines, a serious threat to public health. In addition, Naqvi urged the FIA to play a more active role in preventing power theft and human trafficking.
