ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Human Rights (MoHR) has launched an awareness campaign to prevent child abuse through social media. A MoHR official said that social media is an excellent tool to combat child abuse.
“We believe that social media is effective in raising public awareness of social issues, including child abuse,” he added.
He added that at least half of the adult population uses social media.
In other words, by publishing messages about child abuse prevention, there is a much higher chance that they will reach the adults who need those messages. He further added that the media can play a vital role between people, adding that “our voices are stronger when we speak as one”.

He further added that “in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the dignity of children and their right to a life free from violence is placed as a priority of the international development agenda through the implementation of a number of goals and objectives relevant to the 2024 Agenda. to end exploitation, abuse, trafficking, torture and all forms violence against children as well as to eliminate all harmful practices such as child labour, early marriage and forced marriage.
