Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former Test cricketer Mohammad Wasim as the head coach of the national women’s cricket team.
Changes have also been made to the coaching staff of the women’s national team, with Abdul Rehman as bowling coach and Javed Khan as assistant coach, according to a statement issued by the PCB. Hanef Malik has been appointed as the field coach and Hina Manzoor as the women’s team manager.
It should be remembered that Muhammad Wasim was previously the Chairman of the National Election Committee from 2020 to 2022.
Preparations for the Asian Cup began with the women’s team camp in Karachi. 28 players will participate in the four-day camp, during which they will also play two practice games.
The Women’s Asia Cup will be held from July 19 to July 28 in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, where the Pakistan women’s team will play their first match against India on July 19.
