Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government Minister Arshid Ayub Khan paid a surprise visit to Mardan city and inspect the ongoing cleanliness operations of Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM) during EidulAzha. He also visited the dumping site and transfer stations established for efficient and quick response to cope the huge volume of animal remains and offal. Arshid Ayub Khan lauded the efforts of management and sanitation staff of WSSCM for provision of improved sanitation services during the EidulAzha operations. Commissioner Mardan Division Muhammad Ayaz Khan and Deputy Commissioner Mardan Muhammad Fayaz Khan Sherpao were also present during the visit. DC Mardan and Chief Executive Officer WSSCM Muhammad Fayaz Khan Sherpao briefed Minister for LG that during two days of EidulAzha WSSCM collected 2065 tons of animal remains and safely disposed off. 600 sanitation workers and more than 70 various sanitation vehicles were deployed for transportation of waste to transfer stations and dumping sites. 41 Complaints were received during Eid two days which were immediately resolved. Moreover prior to EidulAzha 4500 biodegradable bags have been distributed among the citizens through elected representatives and other social activists for safe collection of animal remains. Provincial Minister of Local Government Arshid Ayub Khan expressed his satisfaction on the WSSCM EidulAzha operations and stated that provincial government is trying to provide a clean and safe environment to the citizens. He saluted the sanitation staff and said that despite the intense heat in different districts of the province, the performance of all the local government institutions was satisfactory for providing the best services to the citizens. He paid tribute to all staff of the company for their excellent cleanliness, and stated that sanitation workers worked day and night to provide clean environment to the citizens. General Manager WSSCM Imran Zaman, Manager Municipal Services Muhammad Khalil Akbar, Manager HR & Admin Rahatullah, Deputy Manager Solid Waste Management Muhammad Ishaq and Assistant Commissioner Takht Bhai Junaid Khalid were also present during the visit.
