Karachi: Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqir fixed the minimum price of sugarcane at Rs 425 per maund.
A meeting of the Agriculture Department was held under the chairmanship of the Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, in which Chief Secretary Dr. Fakhar Alam, Advocate General Hasan Akbar, Secretary Finance Kazim Jatoi, Secretary Agriculture Ijaz Shah, Secretary Food Abbas Soomro and other relevant officers participated.
Secretary Agriculture Ijaz Shah gave a briefing to the Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh.
Spokesperson Chief Minister Sindh said that the minimum price of sugarcane was discussed in the meeting. Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh directed the Chief Secretary to approve the Cabinet through circulation summary.
Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqir said that the Sindh government has already fixed the minimum price of wheat at Rs 4000 per maund.

The Secretary Agriculture Sindh informed the Chief Minister Sindh that there are 10 DGs in the Agriculture Department and one can Commissioner, there are about 13 wings of the Agriculture Department.
The Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh asked that the Agriculture Department cannot increase the production of rice, wheat and other crops? The production of rice and wheat in Punjab is more than that of Sindh.
The Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh directed the Agriculture Secretary to review the performance of his DGs, which wings of the Agriculture Department are not working well, close them or improve them.
