Microsoft has launched an interesting initiative to boost the popularity of its Bing search engine over Google. The company is employing a user interface that makes it appear as though users are opening Google’s search engine when they actually use Bing. If you search for Google on Bing without logging into a Microsoft account, the page will look just like Google’s search results.
According to a report from 9to5Google, the clear goal is to make Bing resemble Google specifically for certain searches, with this unique user interface not appearing in other searches. The search results for Google on Bing show a search bar, a Google Doodle-like image, and text beneath the search bar similar to Google’s site. Microsoft also automatically scrolls the page down to hide the Bing search bar at the top.
This move is seen as part of Microsoft’s strategy to discourage users from going to Google, pushing them to use Bing instead. The company has frequently taken such actions, encouraging users to switch from Google and Chrome to Bing or Edge.
