LAHORE – Maryam Nawaz, a candidate for the post of Chief Minister of Punjab, has praised the brave act of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Syeda Shehrbano for saving a woman from a mob in Lahore.
Taking to social media platform ‘X’, Maryam tweeted, “Thank you Shehrban! We are all proud of you.” She praised the bravery, dedication, wisdom and sense of duty the officer displayed during a potentially violent incident.
She expressed her appreciation to ASP Shehrbano for her efforts in fighting extremism and handling crowd pressure in a tense situation.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that every police officer should resolve to ensure the safety of citizens with such unwavering courage.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Police has recommended her name for the prestigious Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal (QPM), the highest gallantry award for law enforcers in Pakistan.
A woman wearing a dress decorated with Arabic calligraphy was surrounded by a mob in Lahore on Sunday. ASP Shehrbano controlled the situation and rescued the woman from the mob.
