Mamata Kulkarni, the popular actress of the 90s who gained fame for her role in the Bollywood blockbuster “Karan Arjun,” has returned to Mumbai after 25 years. Her arrival has garnered attention from both fans and the media.
The bold actress from India had been named in a 2,000-crore drug case, but the Mumbai court finally dismissed the case due to insufficient evidence, clearing her name and giving her a clean chit.
Upon her return to her hometown, Mamata shared a photo and video on Instagram, expressing an emotional message. In the video, she said, “I am very emotional, and I don’t know how to express it. When my flight landed here, I was looking to my left and right, and I saw my country from above after 24 years, and I became emotional.”
In the caption of the picture, Mamata wrote, “Returning to my motherland after 25 years. I had attended the Kumbh Mela in 2012, and now I’m here for the 2025 Kumbh Mela.”
Fans of the actress expressed their joy at her return, reminiscing about her film roles and sending congratulatory messages in the comments.
It is worth noting that Mamata Kulkarni’s name was linked to a major drug smuggling case in 2015 when authorities accused her and her husband, Vicky Goswami, of being involved in a 2,000-crore drug cartel. This case severely impacted Mamata’s Bollywood image.
Recently, the Mumbai High Court dismissed the FIR in the drug case, granting her a clean chit.
