Bollywood actress Mamata Kulkarni recently returned to India after 25 years, and she has made several significant revelations.
In an interview with Indian media, the 52-year-old actress stated, “I was born for a purpose, I was not born for Bollywood. My mother was a big fan of Lata Mangeshkar, and in 1950, my mother was given an opportunity to act in a serial by Ramanand Sagar, but my father refused.”
The actress mentioned that at that time, people believed that only those from humble backgrounds entered Bollywood, but her mother wanted her to become an actress.
Mamata Kulkarni shared that in 1997, she had seven films released, all of which were hits. During that time, she also went on several world tours.
When asked about her future, Kulkarni said, “I have no connection with Bollywood or anything else. I listen to music, I am 50 years old, and I want to lead a spiritual life.”
Regarding marriage, she said, “I have no intention of getting married. If I go on Kaun Banega Crorepati, I would lose in the first five questions because I don’t know anything about today’s world.”
Responding to questions about drugs, Mamata Kulkarni said, “I left Bollywood, people say my name came up in drug matters, but it’s all a lie. People say such things for money.”
She added, “At that time, I had offers for 10 films, three houses, and two cars. How could I get involved in drugs after leaving Bollywood?”
Regarding Vicky Goswami, she said, “I met him in 1996. He used to have all of Bollywood coming to him in Dubai, but I was busy with my work. Many people tried to meet me.”
Mamata Kulkarni clarified that Vicky Goswami is not her husband and stated, “He called me. He was in jail, and I tried very hard to get him released, but his family did not want him out. Later, he came out of jail, but I didn’t know anything about his drug dealings.”
Regarding the underworld, she said, “At that time, the underworld had an influence, but I was never affected by it. I would shoot and go straight home.”
Mamata Kulkarni also spoke about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, “He is like a father to me. I see one thing in Modi Ji, he loves his country deeply, and he would do anything for his country.”
