MARDAN : A grand operation against permanent encroachments has been initiated in Rustam. A joint effort by Assistant Commissioner (AC) Rustam, Rashid Ali, and TMA Rustam led to the removal of illegal permanent encroachments from Khatm-e-Nubowat Chowk to the police station road using heavy machinery.
According to details, under the public agenda of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the special directives of Deputy Commissioner Mardan, AC Rustam Rashid Ali, TMO Pir Azam, local police, and revenue staff conducted the operation. Illegal encroachments obstructing government land were demolished using heavy machinery.Speaking to media representatives, AC Rashid Ali stated that shopkeepers were previously issued official notices instructing them to voluntarily remove their illegal encroachments. Those who did not comply faced demolition by the authorities. He added that the encroachments were causing traffic congestion and frequent road blockages. Clearing the road has improved traffic flow significantly.
He emphasized that the anti-encroachment operations would continue without compromise. Local residents appreciated the efforts of the provincial government, district, and tehsil administration, stating that the initiative has improved traffic conditions and made it easier for pedestrians to move around.The AC reiterated that such operations would persist to ensure public convenience, and no leniency would be shown to violators.
