Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batting coach Michael Hussey has praised Rachin Ravindra for his “impressive start” in the Indian Premier League (IPL), which he attributes to his clear head and positive intent.
A talented all-rounder from New Zealand, Ravindra caught the attention of IPL franchises after his stellar performance in the 50-over World Cup, where he became the fourth highest run-scorer with 578 runs, including three centuries.
Despite the hopes of some Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans that Ravindra would join their team thanks to his roots in the city, the 24-year-old opted to join their fierce southern rivals Chennai in the player auction. Nevertheless, Ravindra quickly rose to prominence in his debut IPL season, impressing everyone with his energy, eagerness to learn and positive impact on the team environment.
According to Hussey, Ravindra’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, with the young talent demonstrating his hunger for knowledge and desire to contribute positively to the team.
