Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, called on Chief of the Air Staff Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu at Air Headquarters in Islamabad on February 2, 2026, to discuss regional security and bilateral defence cooperation.
According to a Pakistan Air Force statement, the meeting covered matters of mutual interest, including the evolving regional security environment and opportunities to strengthen military-to-military collaboration between Pakistan and Libya.

During the discussions, the air chief highlighted the longstanding religious and historical ties between the two countries and briefed the visiting delegation on Pakistan Air Force’s operational readiness, modernization initiatives, and multi-domain capability development. He also reaffirmed PAF’s commitment to sharing professional expertise and operational experience with friendly air forces.
The Libyan delegation was briefed on Pakistan’s indigenization efforts in the aerospace sector, including initiatives being pursued through the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park.
Lieutenant General Haftar thanked the air chief for the reception and praised the professionalism of PAF personnel. He expressed interest in expanding defence cooperation through joint training programmes, military exercises, and professional exchanges.
