Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted that 2024 Eid-ul-Azha will fall on June 17, Monday.
PMD Weather Data Processing Center estimates that the crescent moon for Dhul-Hijjah will rise on June 6 at 5:38 AM.
According to PMD, the moon will be 26 8 minutes old at sunset in Karachi, which is expected to last 72 minutes after sunset. Despite these predictions, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will take the final decision on Moon sighting.
Vacation schedule
The 2024 official holiday calendar marks Easter from June 17 to June 19. The holiday season will begin on June 15, and most government agencies will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
However, if Eid al-Adha is approved on June 18, the federal government is expected to adjust the holiday schedule accordingly. An official notification detailing the updated holiday will be issued by the federal government in the days leading up to Eid.
