LAHORE: In the recent Pakistan Super League (PSL) ninth season match between Lahore Qalandars against Multan Sultans on Tuesday, the former faced their sixth straight defeat.
Multan Sultans secured victory by 60 runs as the beleaguered Qalandars could not chase down Sultans impressive score of 215 runs. The Qalandars could only dismiss 154 runs before falling in just 17 overs.
Throughout the game, Lahore Qalandars struggled in their bowling and fielding departments. Despite Shaheen Shah Afridi’s efforts as he claimed two wickets, the team’s bowling lacked consistency. This enabled Multan Sultans to score significant runs.
After the sixth loss, the team’s coach Aaqib Javed expressed his disappointment. He pointed out that the team struggled to find the right balance and support for key players like Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Javed also lamented the absence of Abdullah Shafiq which weakened the Qalandars line-up and affected their performance.
With six losses in PSL 9, the winning prospects for the team look bleak.
