Lahore: LAAM Fashion Week held its inaugural leadership and networking event at its headquarters in Lahore, bringing together designers, brand representatives, business figures, media professionals, and industry stakeholders for discussions on the future of Pakistan’s fashion industry.
The event served as the first formal introduction to the LAAM Fashion Week platform and its operating model ahead of the debut edition scheduled for January 2026 in Lahore.
LAAM introduces digital runway-to-commerce model to industry stakeholders
During the session, organizers outlined the structure of the platform, which is based on a digital runway-to-e-tail model. Under this system, collections presented on the runway will be photographed, catalogued, priced, and made available for online purchase.
The discussion focused on how digital infrastructure, data-based systems, and logistics integration could link runway presentations with direct consumer sales.
Panel discussion features founders and industry leadership
The panel discussion included LAAM and LAAM Fashion Week co-founders Amir Iqbal and Arif Iqbal, along with Design651 CEO and co-founder of the platform Saad Ali. Creative leadership was represented by Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY) and Maheen Kardar.
The session was moderated by Selina Rashid, CEO of Lotus PR Global.
Discussion highlights curation, global reach and commerce integration
Speakers outlined three key areas of focus for the platform: curation, global reach, and digital commerce. The organizers said the platform will include participation from luxury designers, couture houses, high-street brands, textile groups, and emerging designers.
Information shared at the event indicated that LAAM’s existing digital reach spans more than 120 countries, with millions of users engaging with fashion and lifestyle content through its platforms.
Leadership comments on technology and industry evolution
During the discussion, Amir Iqbal said that consumer demand for South Asian fashion already exists across international markets and the new platform aims to connect that demand directly with runway collections.
Arif Iqbal stated that technology, including artificial intelligence and data-based logistics, would form the backbone of the platform’s operations.
Saad Ali said the initiative reflects an evolution of Pakistan’s fashion platforms, linking creative output with structured commercial systems.
January 2026 debut planned with multi-category participation
Organizers said the platform’s debut edition is scheduled to take place in Lahore in January 2026. The event is expected to feature representation across luxury, high-street fashion, couture, textiles, and emerging designers.
The platform is being developed in partnership between LAAM and Design651, with HSY serving as Event Director, Nabila and N-Gents as Official Style Partners, Maheen Kardar as Designer Experience Director, and Lotus as Strategic Communications Partner.
