A two-day workshop on the Monitoring Framework of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Investment and Institutional Support Project (KP-RIISP) concluded with a renewed emphasis on strengthening results-based monitoring, data accuracy, and real-time reporting mechanisms.
The workshop was organised by M&E Consultants CSRD and brought together Project Directors, technical staff from Project Implementation Units (PIUs), officials from the Project Coordination and Management Unit (PCMU), Planning and Development Department (P&DD), design and supervision consultants, and monitoring and evaluation teams. The objective was to develop a shared and harmonised understanding of KP-RIISP’s results indicators, measurement protocols, and monitoring responsibilities.

KP-RIISP is a World Bank–supported initiative being implemented by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to improve service delivery, institutional capacity, and climate resilience in the province’s newly merged districts.
Opening the workshop, Dr Muhammad Zulfiqar, Team Leader, outlined the purpose and expected outcomes of the sessions. He stressed that a robust monitoring framework was essential to ensure transparency, accountability, and results-oriented implementation. He also highlighted the importance of real-time progress reporting, dashboard-based monitoring, and clarity on indicator definitions and verification mechanisms across implementing departments.
Mr Salman Khan, M&E Specialist at PCMU, presented an overview of the project’s monitoring and evaluation arrangements, including the results framework, reporting workflows, and integration of monitoring tools with digital platforms. He emphasised the need for timely and consistent data submission from PIUs to support evidence-based decision-making and adaptive project management.
Technical sessions were conducted by Mr Nazir Malik, Ms Nudrat, Mr Muhammad Shahab, and Mr Asif Marwat, who delivered detailed presentations on indicator definitions, measurement methodologies, sources of verification, and departmental roles in data collection and reporting. The sessions encouraged interactive discussions and addressed practical challenges faced by implementing agencies.
Project Directors from the Agriculture, Communication and Works (C&W), Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Irrigation, and Local Government Departments shared updates on progress, future plans, reporting formats, beneficiary coverage, and key implementation challenges related to their respective components under KP-RIISP.
The workshop concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to improving harmonised monitoring practices, enhancing data quality, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting in line with project objectives. Participants appreciated the consultative approach of the workshop and expressed support for continued coordination to strengthen implementation outcomes.
