MANSEHRA: Additional Secretary (Administration), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Department, Habib-ul-Hassan Gilani, visited Siren Forest Division, Mansehra, and reviewed ongoing efforts for forest conservation, rehabilitation, plantation and sustainable management of natural resources.
During the visit, the Additional Secretary also visited Upper Siren Jabbori and participated in the plantation campaign by planting a sapling at Domel. The plantation activity was attended by DFO Siren Amanullah Khan, DFO Kaghan, DFO Working Plan, DFO Watershed, SDFO Upper Siren Jabbori, CDO Mansehra Muhammad Hanif and other officials and field staff of the Forest Department.
At the outset of the visit, DFO Siren Amanullah Khan briefed the Additional Secretary in detail on measures being taken for the protection, conservation and rehabilitation of forests in the division.
The briefing also covered ongoing plantation activities, sustainable management of natural resources, promotion of biodiversity, and measures to curb illegal tree cutting and timber smuggling.
Habib-ul-Hassan Gilani stressed the importance of effective forest protection and coordinated administrative measures to ensure the long-term sustainability of the province’s natural resources.
He said that strong conservation efforts, responsible management and expanded plantation activities were essential for building a greener, safer and more sustainable Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Additional Secretary appreciated the efforts of the Forest Department and directed officials to continue working with dedication and commitment to protect forests, promote plantation and conserve the province’s valuable natural resources.
The visit concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening forest conservation, biodiversity protection and sustainable natural resource management across the region.
