Peshawar: The Peshawar Boxing Awards Ceremony 2024 was held today, during which the annual sports competition calendar was announced. On this occasion, the Chairman of the KP Boxing Association, Captain (Retired) Usman Gul, emphasized the importance of timely implementation of the annual calendar and merit-based selection of players to promote boxing in KP and Pakistan.
Captain (Retired) Usman Gul, Chairman of the KP Boxing Association, stated that all available resources would be fully utilized, and no effort would be spared to ensure that all scheduled boxing events are held on time. He further mentioned that the KP Boxing Association would encourage talented players and send them to the national boxing championship based on merit and transparency. He also stressed that fostering boxing in KP would promote this sport at national and international levels.
The President of the KP Boxing Association, Major (Retired) Azhar Ali Khan, also addressed the ceremony. He appreciated the efforts of the KP Boxing Association and the capabilities of KP players. Following this, the General Secretary of KP Boxing, Khizer Ullah Jan, and the General Secretary of Peshawar Boxing, Muhammad Ajmal, announced the annual calendar.
Later, appreciation cards were distributed among all judges, referees, and coaches. The recipients included Naimat Gul, Hammad Shah, Mehboob Khan, Abid Hussain, Saleem Khan, Ibrahim Khan, Shahid Khan, Altaf Khan, Asim Khan, Malik, Abdul Hadi, Nazir, Amin, Ammar Yasir, Abdul Rasheed, Muhammad Afzal, Ali Khan, Safiullah, Zia Ur Rahman, Tauqeer, Obaidullah, Ali Akbar, Ijaz Khan, Ali Ahmed, Obaidullah Khan, Umar Khan, Jihad Hussain, Naveed Khan, Ameerzada, Irshad Ullah, and among the female members, KP Finance Secretary Iqra Khan and Muneeba Maryam were included.
It is worth mentioning that the recently elected KP Boxing Association, led by the newly elected Chairman Captain (Retired) Usman Gul, has made significant efforts to popularize and promote boxing at the KP and national levels.
The presence of Baba Martial Arts Rehmat Gul Afridi added value to the ceremony, and his services were highly appreciated. The program received great acclaim, and all participants were thanked. The event was attended by all registered club coaches of Peshawar.
