Four civilians, including Coast Guard Major Saad and a security guard, have been killed in anti-piracy attacks since early 2024, and up to 60 people have been shot in anti-piracy incidents.
The perpetrators stole $10.30 million, making the event one of the largest heists in the SITE region. Two poultry farm workers, Sher Alam and Zakir, were killed when they tried to deposit a large amount of money from the office to the bank.
The accused fled after looting the money.
Yesterday SSP Faizan Ali said a security guard was shot dead by dacoits near the Gharibabad underpass.
When the Karawang Police and Rangers left the accused’s motorcycle and entered a nearby road, the security guards tried to arrest the fleeing accused.
Coast Guard Major Saad, who was injured in a counter-piracy incident in the area of Sher Shah on March 31, also died during treatment.
Separately, three suspects entered a house in Farid Colony of Orangi and killed a man named Jamrali Shah.
People near Karimi Chowrangi in Sarjani arrested the robbers and handed them over to the police after the violence.
