Peshawar: Retired Justice Arshad Hussain has been appointed as the new Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A consultation was held between former Chief Minister Mehmood Khan and opposition leader Akram Khan Durrani in the Chief Minister’s Office for the appointment of the new caretaker Chief Minister of the province, in which various names were considered.
In the meeting between Mehmood Khan and Akram Durrani, the name of Justice (R) Arshad Hussain was agreed upon as caretaker chief minister.

As a result of the consensus, the caretaker chief minister’s summary was sent to the governor. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali signed the summary. His swearing-in is likely to be held today.
Justice (R) Arshad Hussain was the Law Minister in the dissolved cabinet. The new caretaker cabinet will consist of members from the Azam Khan era. Apart from the old ministers in the cabinet of Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, advisers and special assistants will also be the same.
