Tel Aviv: Israeli media has claimed to reveal details of a secret report regarding a plot to assassinate Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran.
According to Israeli media, the assassination of Haniyeh had been planned for months. However, on the night he was supposed to be killed, the AC unit in his room malfunctioned, forcing him to leave the room and stay in another one for some time.
The report states that after the AC failure, the assassination attempt was delayed as a small remote-controlled bomb had been placed in his room, which would have only caused harm if Haniyeh was present in the room.
The report goes on to say that after the AC was repaired, Haniyeh returned to his room, and the bomb was detonated at 1:30 AM.
It is worth noting that just a few days ago, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz openly admitted to the plan to kill Ismail Haniyeh.
Haniyeh was assassinated in Iran on July 31 of this year while attending the inauguration ceremony of new Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian.
