In a diplomatic response, Iran’s foreign ministry stressed its commitment to maintain “friendly and brotherly relations” with Pakistan, despite Pakistan’s retaliatory strikes following Tehran’s airspace violation. Less than 48 hours after Iran violated Pakistani airspace, Pakistan carried out targeted strikes on terrorist hideouts in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province.
Pakistan’s military media department issued a statement revealing that the operation, dubbed “Marg Bar Sarmachar” was aimed at striking hideouts used by terrorist organizations, specifically mentioning the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF). The military action followed Iran’s incursion into Pakistani airspace, prompting swift countermeasures.
Iran’s IRNA news agency reported that nine people were killed in an attack on a village in the city of Saravan. Iran’s Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi clarified that all the victims were “foreign nationals”.
Earlier this week, Iran launched strikes in Pakistan targeting alleged Jaish al-Adl militant group bases in the border town of Panjgur in Balochistan. The move drew strong condemnation from Islamabad, leading to a deterioration in diplomatic relations.
Iran’s recent military actions, not limited to confrontation with Pakistan, are part of a series of responses to terrorist attacks on its soil. These events have raised concerns about regional stability, especially in light of the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.

In response to Pakistan’s precision military strikes, Pakistan’s Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement highlighting “effective strikes” against hideouts inside Iran used by terrorists responsible for recent attacks in Pakistan.
Iran expressed condemnation and summoned Pakistan’s chargé d’affaires to protest and demand an explanation from the Pakistani government. However, in a subsequent press release, Iran’s foreign ministry reaffirmed its commitment to good neighborly relations with Pakistan while condemning what it called an “unbalanced and unacceptable drone attack on non-Iranian villagers”.
The Foreign Ministry said that “the Islamic Republic of Iran adheres to the policy of good neighborliness and brotherhood between the two nations”, stressing that it refuses to allow outside forces to strain the “friendly and brotherly relations” between the two countries. Iran clarified its distinction between “Pakistan’s friendly and brotherly government and armed terrorists” and called on Islamabad to prevent the establishment of “terrorist bases”, while stressing the importance of maintaining the security and territorial integrity of its people.
