Lucknow’s win marked their first win over Gujarat in five attempts in the IPL series. Thakur’s decisive spell ended with two crucial wickets in 19 overs which sealed the match in Lucknow’s favour.
Marcus Stoinis showed his mettle, scoring an impressive 58 to take Lucknow to 163-5. Despite the low performance, Lucknow’s bowlers, led by spinner Krunal Pandya’s three-wicket haul, saved the total.
The match’s highlight was Ravi Bishnoi’s brilliant comeback from his leg to dismiss Gujarat’s impact substitute Kane Williamson for just one run.
