LAHORE: Pakistan fast bowler Ihsanullah will not play the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 due to injury, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Monday.
Ihsanullah put up a remarkable performance in the eighth iteration of the PSL by securing the second highest wicket haul of 22 wickets.
However, he experienced discomfort in his elbow soon after the tournament, which eventually required surgery.
Multan Sultans now have to rethink their strategy for the ninth season of the PSL considering that their other fast bowler, England’s Rees Topley, will be unavailable for the season.
The England bowler was prevented from participating due to the failure to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the England Cricket Board (ECB).
PSL season 9 will be played in four cities: Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi. The final match will be in Karachi on March 18.
PSL Season 9 will have 14 matches from February 17 to February 27.
