Inflation in 2023 will kill people

Islamabad: In the year 2023, inflation killed Pakistanis, first the PDM and then the caretaker government continued to drop inflation bombs on the people.

In January 2023, the price of petrol which was Rs 214 per liter went up to Rs 267 34 paise in December, while the price of diesel which was Rs 227 per liter went up to Rs 276 21 paise.

For the first time in history, during the tenure of caretaker government, the price of petrol completed triple century and went up to 331 for petrol and 329 for diesel. At the same time, 440 volts of electricity continued to be used, gas prices also skyrocketed. In the year 2023, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 53 while the price of diesel has been increased by around Rs 49.

From 2023 to August, the Shahbaz government increased the prices of petroleum products 7 times, maintained them twice and reduced them 6 times, while the caretaker government increased them 4 times, reduced them 3 times and maintained them twice. In January 2023, the then Finance Minister Senator Shaq Dar maintained the prices of other products.

During the last three months of the year under review, the price of petrol decreased by Rs 64.04 per liter and the price of diesel by Rs 52.99 per litre. In January, Padol 214, high speed diesel 227 rupees 80 paise, light diesel 169 rupees and kerosene 172 rupees per litre.

For the first time in February, the price of papaul was 249, diesel 262 rupees 8 paise, light diesel 187 and kerosene 189 decimal 83 paise per litre. The Shahbaz government increased the prices of petroleum products as they went.

On August 2, the price of padol and diesel was increased by 19 rupees 95 paise. The price reached Rs 272 95 paise and Rs 273 40 paisa respectively. The caretaker government announced a huge price hike as soon as it came to power. On August 16, the price of petrol was increased by 15 rupees 5 paise and diesel by 20 rupees. Maintain kerosene and light diesel prices.

On September 1, the prices were increased once again and thus the triple century was completed, while on September 15, petrol and diesel prices were increased by Rs.

Petrol reached an all-time high of 331 and diesel reached an all-time high of 329 per litre, while on September 1st, with an increase of two rupees, petrol reached an all-time high of 323 rupees 38 paise.

After October 1, the caretaker government started providing relief to the public and reduced the price of petrol by Rs 64.04 per liter and diesel by Rs 52.99 per liter till December 15.

The price of diesel in October was Rs 329.18 per litre, which has now come down to Rs 276.19 per litre, giving consumers a benefit of Rs 52.99 per litre. Similarly, the price of petrol at X-depot was Rs 331 38 paise per liter in October and reduced to Rs 267 34 paise per liter by December 15.

With the passing of the year 2023, the prices of electricity and gas also continued to increase, an additional 1523 billion rupees were withdrawn from the pockets of consumers.

During one year, gas became expensive by 312%, due to the sharp increase in gas prices, consumers had to bear an additional burden of 711 billion rupees.
