An Indian woman exposed the price difference on the Zepeto platform for Android and iPhone users for the same item.
Instagram user Pooja Chhabra conducted a simple experiment on Zepeto, discovering that iPhone users are charged more for the same item compared to Android users.
In a demonstration, Pooja showed that the price of half a kilogram of grapes on an Android device was listed at 65 rupees, while on an iPhone, the price was more than double, at 146 rupees. Additionally, the price of Shimla mirch (capsicum) was 37 rupees on Android, but it appeared as 69 rupees on iPhone.
Surprised by this significant difference, Pooja urged her followers to check if they were also paying more when using an iPhone.
The price difference between Apple and Android users is often linked to the user’s location, with e-commerce platforms assuming that iPhone users have higher incomes and can afford to pay more.
