Ahead of the Champions Trophy clash between traditional rivals, Indian media has started targeting Pakistan’s fast bowler, Naseem Shah.
In fabricated reports, Indian media claimed that Naseem Shah ignored Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s instructions and downplayed the significance of the group match against India in the Champions Trophy.
However, during a press conference, Naseem Shah clarified that the Champions Trophy isn’t just about the India match but all group matches are important, with their goal being to win the final of the tournament.
In the opening ceremony at Gaddafi Stadium, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had urged the Green Shirts not only to focus on winning the Champions Trophy but also to defeat their traditional rivals, India, in the group A match scheduled for February 23. The Prime Minister also expressed hope that fast bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah would take wickets of Indian batsmen.
Indian media misinterpreted Naseem Shah’s words, attempting to create distractions ahead of the match under the pretext of criticizing the stadium’s completion.
