With the arrival of the cold season, respiratory infections have risen across the country.
Dr. Waqas Rashid, an expert in respiratory and asthma diseases, stated that cold weather leads to a rapid increase in respiratory infections, so people should take preventive measures.
He further emphasized that maintaining a healthy diet is essential to reduce the risk of diseases ranging from mild colds to severe pneumonia.
Dr. Rashid advised the public to stay cautious and seek medical help if they experience persistent symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, sore throat, or a blocked nose.
Experts attribute the increase in cases to sudden temperature drops and urge people to take simple precautions to reduce risks, including wearing masks, washing hands frequently, staying hydrated, avoiding contact with symptomatic individuals, and maintaining a nutritious diet.
Dr. Rashid also highlighted traditional remedies like hot, nutritious broths (such as soups) that help boost immunity and alleviate symptoms.
