Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart Rana Sanaullah on Monday made scathing remarks against the founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying that as long as Imran Khan remains in the political arena, meaningful dialogue will remain elusive.
In an interview, Sanaullah emphasized the need for a grand dialogue to solve the pressing problems of the country and argued that even if Imran Khan retained power, it would not be enough to solve the nation’s problems.
In addition, Sanaullah was not silent in advocating accountability, urging punitive action against those involved in threatening judges and organizing the Faizabad meeting.
Sanaullah’s comments come amid heightened tensions following a letter by six judges of the Islamabad High Court to the Supreme Judicial Council, alleging that secret agencies are unduly interfering in judicial affairs.
Notably, Sanaullah himself served as the Law Minister during the tumultuous meeting in Faizabad and expressed his readiness to provide relevant insights regarding the event.
Sanaullah highlighted the complexity surrounding the Faizabad sit-in, involving various stakeholders, including the judiciary, the establishment and the political party, underscoring the multifaceted nature of the incident.
