Maryland: A new study has found that taking a multivitamin a day does not reduce the risk of death or help extend life in healthy people.
Researchers at the US National Cancer Institute looked at data from nearly 400,000 healthy people over 20 years.
The study found no link between regular multivitamin use and reduced risk of death.
A study published in the journal JAMA Network Open found that many people regularly take multivitamins in the hope that this habit will improve their health. However, the advantages and disadvantages of using these drugs on a daily basis are not yet clear.
Previous studies examining the relationship between drug use and mortality had limited data due to shorter time periods.
To address this limitation, a recent study reviewed data from three different studies involving 390,000 people followed over 20 years.
