ISLAMABAD: A cleanliness drive was held at the Girls Campus of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) on September 29 under the SDGs Awareness & Action Initiative, promoting responsible waste management and environmental responsibility among students and staff.
Held in front of Aisha Block under the theme “Clean Campus, Green Future,” the activity was led by Prof. Dr. Noor Fatima, Focal Person for SDGs, with the support and participation of Prof. Dr. Rabia Gul, Director Female Campus.
Faculty members, staff and students took part in the cleanliness activity, which focused on reducing waste, proper disposal and adopting the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
Participants were encouraged to keep shared spaces clean and develop environmentally responsible habits in their daily lives. Speakers highlighted that consistent individual actions can contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
The activity was aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
The initiative highlighted the role of educational institutions in promoting sustainable practices and building environmental awareness among young people.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a cleaner, greener and more environmentally responsible campus.
